Game Preview: Green Bulldogs v. Perry Panthers (Off The Leash | 10/6/22)
Green looks to defeat the Perry Panthers this Friday to get their season back on track.

Green High School will take on the Perry Panthers this Friday (10/7) @ 7:00 PM ET at home. With the Bulldogs wanting to get their season back on track (and a win for senior night), they also need to win if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. Coming off of a loss to a 1-5 Louisville squad, the Bulldogs need to win this if they want to even out their record.
Perry comes into this game 4-3, wanting to win this game in order to advance their season even farther into playoff contention. Looking at their stats, it’s clear they are definitely a run-oriented team. With star RB Deandre Church (#22) leading the way with over 1000 rushing yards this season, it’s pretty obvious what Perry will do to win this week. Watching film, it’s clear that Green lacks a run defense—and unfortunately, I think it’s easy to see where this game is going to go. The Bulldogs' defense will have to step it up this week if they want to win, because I’m sure that Perry is going to follow a similar pattern to all of the teams that Green has lost to.
Though Green QB Robby Klockner (#19) has had some less than stellar moments, in games against tough opponents he seems fine. It actually seems that he does better than usual against teams that Green is favored to lose against. Usually passing over 300+ yards in those games, the ideal situation would be for Klockner to shake off the nerves after a season low of 191 passing yards against Louisville last week. If Klockner can disregard his nerves, I think it will definitely be important for Green to triumph over Perry.
Game Prediction
With Green lacking run defense week after week, I’m not sure what they’ll be able to do against a running back like Perry’s Deandre Church. I’d love to remain optimistic, but it’s hard after seeing these losses.
