Game Preview: Green Bulldogs v. Jackson Polar Bears (Off The Leash | 9/7/22)
The Green Bulldogs try to bounce back after a loss to the Tallmadge Blue Devils.

The Bulldogs of Green High School will play the Jackson Polar Bears this Friday (9/9/22) @ 7:00 PM ET at home. After suffering a loss to Tallmadge last Friday, the Bulldogs look to get back on their feet against the Polar Bears. Jackson is coming into this game with a dominant 43-14 win over Boardman, which puts their season record at 2-1. The Polar Bears currently lack a solid QB, with their starter Ethan Lesco (#15) only completing 1 of 13 passes in week 2. Will Green’s defense be able to exploit these weaknesses and control the game? No matter what, both teams are fighting for a winning record this week.
Dog Tags
Here are 2 players to look out for this Friday.
Jarrett Taylor (#2)
WR/CB Jarrett Taylor pulled in 3/3 catches for 77 yards and 3 TDs last week. As I’ve stated previously, Jarrett is the tallest receiver on the Bulldog’s roster. In previous weeks, he’s mossed opposing defensive backs and led Green into the red-zone multiple times. His quality of play never drops on offense, and it’s useful for fades in the endzone. I see him as an important piece every game for Green, and especially against Jackson.
Robby Klockner (#19)
Klockner is quickly becoming one of the better QBs in northeastern Ohio, and his game against Tallmadge proved that. Though shaken up after a few hits in the 3rd quarter, he stepped up and dropped 2 more touchdowns to lead Green into overtime. He also made a great pass in overtime that led the Bulldogs to an Antonio Martin (#3) scoring run. Klockner passes for an average of about 342 yards per game, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he passes for 400 yards against Jackson.
Game Prediction
Going against a weak Jackson team, I think the Bulldogs come through and pull out a convincing win against the Polar Bears.
